*WARNING: Coronation Street spoilers ahead*

Corrie stalwart Roy Cropper, played by David Neilson since 1995, has got himself into some very comical situations over the years.

But this upcoming storyline surely tops them all. New paparazzi pictures reveal that Cropper is set to be arrested on suspicion of ‘dogging’ after trying to help newcomer Evelyn Plummer (Maureen Lipman) find her lost pet dog Cerberus.

According to Metro, Plummer will enlist Cropper’s help when she believes her dog has been dognapped. The pair stake outside the house for where she believes her beloved pet is being held hostage.

They will attempt to scale the fence, with Cropper offering a leg up to Plummer. However, they will be spotted and Craig Tinker will arrive on the scene to help clear their good name with his police colleagues.

However, the police will return only to mistake the two friends for doing something far more sordid when they spot their car windows have steamed up.

A nervous Cropper will be questioned as to what he’s up to in the car with Plummer, and from the looks of things, he may be set to be arrested on suspicion of committing public indecency.

The Roy’s Rolls cafe owner is more known for serving up bacon sandwiches to Corrie residents than anything remotely sordid, but this is certainly about to change.

Cropper, played by 69-year-old Neilson, is one of the soap’s longest serving and most beloved characters. Neilson has received many awards for his portrayal of Cropper, including ‘Best Actor’ at the 2013 Inside Soap Awards and ‘Best Dramatic Performance’ at The British Soap Awards in 2014.

‘The scenes are expected to air in December.
