Coronation Street star Cherylee Houston has been the victim of a disablity slur.
The actress, who plays Izzy Armstrong on the ITV soap, was diagnosed with Ehlers-Danlos syndrome when she was 23, and has used a wheelchair ever since.
Cherylee revealed that she has been the victim of ableist abuse from a man on the street.
Taking to Twitter, she wrote: "Was just crossing the road and a car beeped [at] me and a man shouted 'Sp****c' at me. Wow."
The 43-year-old was instantly flooded with messages of support from fans who said how awful the incident was.
Houston added that she was fine, writing: "Just shocked that this sort of hatred is still going on."
In 2015, the actress opened up about another incident where a man visited her home to complain after seeing her walk a few steps.
Cherylee has been open about the fact her condition causes her severe pain in the joints, meaning although she can sometimes stand and walk a few steps, a wheelchair is the only way she can be mobile.
"Wow disability hate crime knocked on our front door today, literally. Scary as shows how much our country's instinct is to hate not think," she tweeted at the time.
She later told a fan that the man threatened to report her for benefit fraud, and her partner dealt with the situation as she wasn't home.
"Oh bless you all I'm alright," she wrote. "I'm a little shaken but I wasn't even there! Thank you all for kind thoughts. It was Toby who got it all.
"Man knocked angry saying he'd seen me walk a few steps to my wheelchair, apparently taken a photo of me and is going to report me for benefits cheat!
"He was very rude to Toby and obviously disgusted that I wasn't paralysed. Said it wasn't right and he was going to papers. Vile. Ignorant."
Cherylee added that the man told her husband: "I'm not being funny, right, but did I just see someone walk out the door then get into a wheelchair? I took a photo, I'll send it to the papers. I saw her, plain as day. Who are you calling an idiot, she's on the fiddle."
Coronation Street airs on ITV.
