Corrie star hints at "high drama" for Alya in new storyline

Coronation Street actress Sair Khan has teased some "high drama" approaching for her character Alya Nazir.
It's been a rollercoaster last couple of months for Alya – not to mention quite a troubled life on the cobbles in general – following the Rana Habeeb tragedy, and now it sounds like she's about to endure some more bumps and bruises in the near future.

Chatting to Manchester Evening News at the Pride of Manchester Awards recently, the soap star teased: "We've been filming some bits today actually, something pretty high drama. It does involve Alya.
"There actually are happy times coming up. There's a couple of things going on. One of them is really great and one of them not so great."
So basically, Alya could be taking one step forward and two steps back – but we'll find out the answers soon enough.

Meanwhile, Sair has previously admitted that her role in Corrie might not last forever.
"I'm under no illusions, I'm a complete realist – if I leave Coronation Street I'll be prepared not to work for two years," she said, after revealing that she'd never had a Plan B if acting hadn't worked out for her.
"I need to have enough money in my bank account to get back to the real world and start auditioning. As incredible as this show is, it doesn't guarantee you a job for life, and it doesn't mean you'll get the next job."
Coronation Street airs on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 7.30pm and 8.30pm on ITV.
