Yahoo News Corrie star teases possible Denise Osbourne return
Coronation Street star Rob Mallard has hinted that Daniel Osbourne could be reunited with his estranged mother Denise at some point in the future.
Since returning to Weatherfield last autumn, Daniel has revealed that he was abandoned by Denise several years ago after she walked out and left him to fend for himself.
Daniel's claims managed to explain Denise's absence in his life while actress Denise Black was busy playing Joanie Wright in Emmerdale. But rumours have been rife that Denise could return to her Corrie roots following Joanie's shock death last month.
And it looks like Rob is hopeful too!
Speaking to Inside Soap, he said: "I would love it if she were to come back to Corrie! I've been a fan of Denise for a few years - and when the audition for Daniel first came up, one of the reasons I was so keen to win the role was because of the people I'd get to work with.
"I knew I'd get to do scenes with the Barlows, but there was also the possibility I'd get to work with Denise at some point down the line. And that wasn't something I was going to turn my back on!"
Only time will tell if he gets his wish, but upcoming scenes will see Daniel's life changed forever when his new girlfriend Sinead Tinker discovers she's pregnant, meaning he may need his mum more than ever...
