Yahoo News Corrie star wants to learn pole-dancing after story
Coronation Street's Bethany Platt recently took up a job at a lap-dancing club, which might be great for her self-confidence but not so good for her relationship with Craig Tinker.
Someone else who is enjoying the character's new profession is actress Lucy Fallon, who has been inspired to take up pole dancing as a result, although just for fun and not as a career.
The star told The Sun, "I don't have to pole-dance in scenes, although I would love to learn.
"I think my sister Rachel would like to as well so maybe we'll start going to some lessons soon. Hopefully it will help me bring out my inner sexy side.
"For my sister's hen do last year we went to a pole-dancing fitness class and it was so good. I really got into it and it's so difficult. You have to have so much upper body strength and the next day I could barely lift my arms up. I felt like I had hurt myself.
"It was the first time that I felt like I'd given my body a proper work out, so I would love to take it up. It was so good."
The star also recently defended the storyline during an appearance on ITV's This Morning, arguing that it would have been unrealistic for her character to move on from her grooming ordeal completely.
"Whether working in a lap-dancing club is the right thing to do is up for debate, but it's [Bethany's] journey and she's got to do it by herself," she said.
Coronation Street continues on Monday (January 22) at 7.30pm and 8.30pm on ITV.
