Yahoo News Corrie's Toyah faces new shock in Nick affair story

Coronation Street's Toyah Battersby receives an unpleasant surprise next week, after she discovers that her recent affair with Nick Tilsley hasn't stayed as secret as she'd thought.
With Toyah's sister - and Nick's partner - Leanne Battersby having become increasingly entrenched in cult The Institute over recent months, her decision to distance herself from Toyah's recent difficulties has driven a wedge into her relationships with both Toyah and Nick.
With Leanne having now experienced an attack of guilt after Toyah suffered complications following her cancer surgery, Nick has been torn over which of the sisters he wants to be with, and has been confiding in his brother David Platt.

In scenes that will air next week, Toyah heads over to the Platt house with Nick, where they chat with David and his wife Shona.
But it isn't long before Toyah realises that David knows all about her fling with Nick, leaving her disappointed with Nick for spilling the beans.
Nick tells Toyah how sorry he is for breaking her trust and promises that he'll stay away from now on.

Later in the week, Toyah heads to her hospital appointment, with Nick going with her to offer support.
Is Toyah about to receive more bad news about her health? And with both David and cult leader Rowan Cunliffe now aware of Toyah and Nick's affair, is it only a matter of time before the truth comes out?

Toyah star Georgia Taylor recently spoke about her character's surprise passion with Nick, explaining that Nick's sensitive reaction to learning the truth about what happened to her baby daughter Rose made her see him "in a light that she'd never seen him in before".
She added that she and Ben Price, who plays Nick, "have really focused on trying to make it an emotional connection".
"But again, what that means is that potentially the stakes are a lot higher," she added.
Coronation Street will air these scenes on Monday, August 19 and Wednesday, August 21.
