The Corrs fans have been left puzzled after one member of the Irish family band pulled out of their Glasgow gig due to "unforeseen circumstances" just hours before they took to the stage at The OVO Hydro last night.

Violinist, Sharon Corr was mysteriously absent from the band's only Scottish gig of their Talk on Corners tour yesterday evening but thankfully a local violinist named Éadaoin Ní Mhaicín was able to step in at the last minute.

According to her official website, Éadaoin Ní Mhaicín, is a 'multi-award-winning instrumentalist and composer' from County Mayo, Ireland although her Instagram bio states she is currently based in both Glasgow and Dublin and specialises in the fiddle and harp.

The Irish musician took to her Instagram page @eadioinofficial to announce she would be joining the band on stage to step in for Sharon. She wrote: "In a mad series of events I am BUZZING to be playing with @thecorrsofficial tonight in the @ovohydro" with the Corr's track Runaway playing in the background.

Earlier that evening, the Corr siblings, made up of Andrea, Sharon, Caroline and Jim, took to their official Instagram page to confirm that Sharon would be missing from the Glasgow gig due to "unforeseen circumstances".

Their statement read: “Due to unforeseen circumstances, Sharon Corr is unable to perform this evening. However, the event will proceed as scheduled, with a full and exciting show planned. Thank you for your understanding x.”

While it's still not known why Sharon did not make an appearance, the Corrs reposted an Instagram story from dedicated fan Rachel Lewis who uploaded a video with the caption: "Thinking of you @sharoncorrofficial".

In the clip Andrea could be heard explaining to the crowds that her older sister was missing "due to something we could not have foretold" as she added that "she was here but unfortunately she cancelled" before introducing Éadaoin Ní Mhaicín, to fans.

It is believed that the Irish violinist was called in at the very last minute and is said to have just met the Corrs for the first time at 4pm that day, meaning she would have had to have learned their entire set list in the space of a few hours.

Andrea took to the stage to say the band was "forever indebted" to Éadaoin and the band later publicly thanked her on their Instagram with the statement: "Thank you to the beautiful & talented Éadaoin tonight. You were amazing."

Éadaoin appeared delighted as she enthusiastically played the violin on stage in clips shared by fans as many took to social media to praise her amazing performance.

The Irish musician took to her own social media after the gig to write: "An absolute pleasure, the dream gig! Thank you @corrsofficial."

Éadaoin appears to play in several bands but can also be booked out for special celebrations separately, having played her first wedding in the US in September this year.
