Costa Coffee brings in major '24/7' change which starts from today

A branch of Costa Coffee has become the first to trial a new 24-hour drive-thru service. The trial starts today (Friday, November 22) at the Meridian East store, on the Meridian Business Park in Leicestershire, the hot drinks giant has confirmed.

The branch will operate its drive-thru lane overnight from 10pm to 5am. Both the store and the drive-thru lane are open daily from 5am to 10pm. Matt Harman, of Costa Coffee, said: "We're proud that our Leicester Meridian East drive-thru is the first store to trial this exciting initiative.

"Whether it's a late-night coffee run or picking up an early breakfast for commuters, our team is ready to deliver the Costa Coffee experience around the clock." A spokesperson for Costa Coffee said the company planned to "evaluate customer and community response keenly during the trial period".

They added that "this feedback will play a crucial role in informing Costa Coffee's decisions on whether the concept of 24/7 service should be expanded to more locations nationally". It comes after Costa Coffee has revealed its Christmas menu early this year with festive food and drinks coming to its stores across the UK.

The coffee shop chain has a variety of new and returning festive items including hot chocolate, lattes, toasties and cakes. Customers can also look forward to festive takeaway cups with a new design for 2024 plus there is some new Christmas merchandise, including reusable cups, keyrings and more.
