People are being invited to a country Somerset pub for an evening of cider tasting. On October 23, The Fine Cider Co from Felix Nash, will come to The Three Horseshoes in Batcombe, Somerset, for an evening of cider tasting and feasting with Margot Henderson and head chef Nye Smith.

Over the evening, people will be able to enjoy special cider pours along with a feast from head chef Nye and Margot. You can sip on perry while tucking into plates of salt hake croquettes & ailoi with Felix on hand to talk through each tipple.

Nye’s menu is designed to pair with cider and will see tuna & potato broth; venison haunch, roast onion and turnip bake before finishing with quince pavlova. Guests will then be welcomed to continue the evening in the pub.

Nye said: “This menu is a reflection of the seasons: earthy root vegetables and game will be served with Felix’s ciders, all paired together for an evening of feasting - I’m excited to bring the two together”.

Felix added: “A quote from J.M. Trowbridge puts it aptly: “Good cider is a much greater rarity than good wine.”

This is one of the reasons we champion small-batch production, with an emphasis on provenance and the orchard. We’ll be bringing bottles made from low intervention orchards, celebrating the delicious ciders the UK has with our friends at The Three Horseshoes”.
