Could Ant & Dec be bringing back SM:TV Live?

Prepare to feel old. Next year will mark the 20th anniversary of SM:TV Live's launch on Saturday mornings on ITV. Bloody hell.

So, surely it's only right that Ant & Dec get back with Cat Deeley for some kind of reunion? Apparently, they think so too.

"It's funny, we were talking to somebody about this recently, because it's 20 years since the launch of SM:TV Live next year," Ant told Digital Spy and other press.

"So we were saying if there was appetite that we could do an anniversary special or something, and we kind of got carried away with the idea, didn't we?

"If we did just a one-off, and it had to be 9.25am, with Chums and all that, and get Cat back."

Dec gave us further hope that this could actually happen, adding: "We've kind of floated it around a few people, getting a straw poll and so far we've had some positive responses."

Yes please.

In case you're disgustingly young, SM:TV Live was one of Ant & Dec's first TV presenting gigs after leaving their PJ & Duncan era behind.

Running from 1998 to 2003, it starred the duo and Cat Deeley on Saturday mornings, and was surprisingly anarchic and naughty for a children's show.

Among its regular features was Chums, a parody of Friends. We'd tune in just for a reunion of that alone.

And of course there was also 'Wonkey Donkey', a gameshow that saw Ant & Dec get increasingly furious at the rubbish answers offered by kids phoning in:

When asked if they could at least bring back that classic game on Saturday Night Takeaway, Ant said: "I'd do it! We kind of know them all, I don't know if I could remember them all."

Fingers crossed it happens - we'd definitely get up super early on Saturday to tune in.

Ant & Dec were speaking ahead of the launch of Saturday Night Takeaway, which returns for its 14th series on Saturday at 7pm on ITV.
