Could Cheryl Join The Voice After Quitting The X Factor?

In case you missed it, Cheryl confirmed she has quit her role as a judge on The X Factor yesterday (April 5) to focus on making music, something she admitted she’d missed doing.

In a statement, she said: “I want to thank everybody I have worked with along the way, especially Simon who I love to bits. I hope the show continues to produce stars and I wish them all the best.”

However, there are now rumours that Cheryl could actually jump ship and move over to another singing competition-based vessel (and one with spinning red chairs at that) - The Voice UK.

According to the Daily Star, bookies have slashed odds on the ‘Fight For This Love’ singer making a shock move to the show when it changes over to ITV, with odds of Cheryl switching going from 5-1 to 8-11.

Ladbrokes spokesman Alex Donohoe said: “Cheryl says she wants to concentrate on the music but plenty of punters expect her to jump ship to The Voice instead.”

With ITV also trying to secure Will.i.am’s involvement next year, a TV insider said: “Cheryl and Will would be a dream team for producers. Their natural chemistry as friends would be amazing for the show.”

Before we get too ahead of ourselves, though, an ITV source has denied making any effort to poach Cheryl onto The Voice, telling Digital Spy: “No approach has been made.”
