Is this Theresa May's Ed Miliband moment? Prime Minister spotted enjoying chips on campaign trail

It was the moment of the 2015 General Election which will be remembered for years to come - Ed Miliband thought it was a great idea to stop for a quick bacon sarnie.

However, this photograph of him unattractively scoffing the meaty treat ended up all over the news and arguably was part of the image problem which lost him the election.

It appears politicians haven't learned a lesson from this - during General Election campaigns in particular, food should be eaten away from the prying lenses of photographers.

While on the campaign trail in Cornwall, Theresa May ate chips from a cone - and the photographers managed to capture her mid-bite.

Some pointed out that Mrs May appeared a bit reluctant to eat the fried treat.

It must have been a dilemma - does one get photographed with one's mouth full, or reject the local delicacy, irritating vendors and voters in the process?

Miliband, who has won over new followers with a lively Twitter presence, couldn't resist a jibe at Mrs May's expense.

"We should talk...," the former Labour leader tweeted the prime minister, as he shared pictures of Mrs May tucking into the chips.
