The Countess of Wessex and Princess Anne hosted a special dinner at Windsor Castle to celebrate the work of St John Ambulance.

Sophie Wessex, the Princess Royal and the Duke of Gloucester invited members of the organisation to honour the work they do.

A photograph of the attendees of the dinner was shared to the official Royal Family Instagram page which explained that Princess Anne is the Commandant-in-Chief (Youth) of the organisation, while Sophie Wessex is the Grand President and the Duke of Gloucester has the title of Grand Prior of the Order of St John.

To attend the formal dinner, Sophie Wessex opted for a dazzling floor-length silver gown. The stunning dress appears to be made entirely from sequins and added more than a hint of glamour to the evening.

While the Countess usually wears her hair swept up for engagements, she wore her shoulder-length hair down for this occasion.

As well as honouring the work of St John Ambulance, Sophie Wessex attended a special garden party at Buckingham Palace alongside her husband, the Earl of Wessex (the Queen’s youngest son) and the Duchess of Cambridge earlier this week.

The garden party was the first of three attended by a cross-section of the public, nominated various organisations. It was the first annual garden party able to take place since before the pandemic.

The Queen usually hosts the garden parties herself, however she has cut back on some recent engagements due to mobility issues.

In her place, other members of the royal family have been stepping in to represent her.
