Countryfile fans beg 'I can't decide' over Anita Rani's wild outfit on BBC show
Countryfile viewers were left somewhat perplexed this weekend, as they couldn't help but comment on presenter Anita Rani's choice of attire.
While Anita was engrossed in presenting an endearing piece about hedgehog rescues on the Welsh isle of Anglesey, advising that sickly hedgehogs should be placed in a box with a hot water bottle for warmth and cautioning the audience to ensure there's space for the creatures to move away from the bottle if it becomes too warm it was her layered look that caught the attention of fans.
The presenter was seen braving the cold in multiple layers, sporting a waterproof peach coat over a buttoned denim jacket, complemented by a cosy woollen scarf snug around her neck.
Beneath the denim layer, Anita seemed to have donned yet another piece of outerwear a black puffer vest peeking out over an orange hoodie. Her ensemble was completed with a vibrant orange cap atop her dark locks, paired with black combat trousers and boots for her trek across the hills.
Confounded fans took to social media to express their bewilderment, with one viewer posting: "What is the #Countryfile presenter wearing? I actually love it but nothing matches haha!" and pondering: "I actually can't decide how many coats she's wearing. Is it three? Or two?", reports the Express.
Another chimed in with: "Who the hell dressed Anita? " while a different user exclaimed: "Far out Anita! " accompanied by a GIF of swirling psychedelic colours.
Other viewers were incensed, claiming the show has morphed into a version of The One Show, with complaints about the encouragement for viewers to submit their own photographs.
An irate tweet stated: "Yay! #Countryfile continues to become the weekend edition of the One Show even more... now we've got to have viewers photos."
Another viewer vented: "Why have you dumbed down Countryfile, with the presenters talking to us like children? Surely the kids have their own countryside programmes!" A third chimed in: "Remember when #Countryfile was interesting?"
Later on, a segment that saw presenters sifting through animal dung for beetles had viewers feeling queasy. The hosts seemed unfazed as they delved into the excrement without gloves.
However, one disgusted viewer remarked: "I'd at least take my ring off to go through animal poo." While another quipped: "If you're planning on playing around with some dung this week stay tuned!"
