A North East Aldi store will reopen with a new look this week after benefitting from the retailer's £600m investment to improve its UK stores.

After closing for refurbishment on October 27, the Spennymoor store, which employs 32 people from the local community, will be ready to welcome customers when it reopens on Tuesday October 29 at 8am.

The new-look store offers updated signage to make shopping even easier, as well as increased chiller space - complete with new fridge doors to reduce energy consumption - and re-designed Health and Beauty and Bakery sections for a modernised look.

All fruit and veg will now be found in the first aisle of the store, for added convenience.

Spennymoor customers can also take a walk down the 'Aisle of Aldi', where they will find legendary Specialbuys which are available every Thursday and Sunday. During re-opening week, the store will be offering a range of Bluey toys, including a Bluey cash register for £19.99, Bluey keyboard for £12.99 and Bluey figure sets for £9.99.

Store Manager Lyndsey Wise said: "The store is looking fantastic, and we can't wait to welcome our loyal customers back so they can see it for themselves. We're committed to making sure that the shopping experience each customer enjoys in our stores is on a par with the products and service they're used to."

The store is located on Oxford Road, Spennymoor, and will be open from 8am until 10pm Monday to Saturday and 10am until 4pm on Sundays.
