Yahoo News Couple's engagement photo over 'edge of the abyss' confuses the internet
A woman appears to risk her life to capture a breathtaking engagement photo, however the incredible snap is actually just an optical illusion.
Luiz Fernando Candeia, 28, was snapped seemingly dangling his fiancée precariously over the side of a cliff, casually holding her by the hand as she smiles for the camera.
The photo was taken 1,100ft (350m) above the Atlantic Ocean, with student Marcelle Rangel da Cunha appearing to rest her hand on the side of the rock to keep her balance.
However, it’s not actually as dangerous as it looks, there’s a plateau just a few feet under the rock where you can comfortably stand - the perfect spot to capture a photo of the breathtaking views.
The Pedra del Telegrafo, located around an hour’s drive from the centre of Rio de Janeiro, is a popular tourist spot with hikers who make the trek to capture incredible photos at the picturesque spot.
