Couple Call Police And Claim They Are Being ‘Held Hostage’ By Their Cat

It’s one of the more unusual emergency calls in history - a couple who called emergency services after being ‘held hostage’ by their own cat.

The Wisconsin couple called 911 and the (unnamed) woman said, ‘Hi. This is going to sound like a strange question, but we have a cat, and it’s going crazy, and it’s attacked my husband, and we’re kind of hostage in our house.

‘And we’re just wondering who we can call to do something, get rid of the cat or help us.’

The woman told dispatchers that the cat was her own - and that it had attacked her husband last week, and after being put in a room to calm down, it had attacked him again.

Police captured the animal and turned it over to animal control.

Police sergeant Matt Borchardt said, ‘There’s been weirder, but this is one of the more unusual ones.’
