Couple reported for swearing and threatening rail staff after missing train

A couple have been reported for swearing and threatening rail staff after missing their train.

The couple arrived at the platform at Lancaster station just as their intended train was departing, and instead of calmly waiting, decided to take their frustrations out on rail staff.

It is claimed they swore at and threatened staff, before the British Transport Police (BTP) were called.

Officers obtained the couple's details and have now launched a public order investigation.

A spokesperson for the BTP said: "A couple who arrived on the platform just as their intended train was departing decided to take their frustrations out on staff

"Officers attended after the couple reportedly swore and threatened railstaff.

Details obtained and public order investigation started."
