Friends star Courteney Cox gave fans of the classic 90s sitcom a Thanksgiving treat as she recreated one of the show’s most iconic moments to mark the holiday.

The 56-year-old took to social media to wish fans a happy Thanksgiving and post a video of herself “dancing like a fool”.

The clip sees the actor recreate a scene from the episode The One With All the Thanksgivings from season five of the popular sitcom.

The now iconic scene sees Monica apologising to boyfriend Chandler by putting a huge uncooked turkey on her head and performing a dance in a bid to make him laugh.

The scene has been immortalised as a GIF in the internet age and Cox has, evidently, been forced to come to terms with the fact as fans keep sending the clip to her.

She addressed this in a post uploaded for her 10.2 million Instagram followers.

Cox said: “Happy Thanksgiving everyone! I hope you're having a great day. I'm feeling so thankful.

“And also, if I get one more god damn GIF with that turkey on my head dancing like a f***ing fool, I'm just gonna snap!”

She then adds: “Anyway, since I'm the symbol of Thanksgiving, here ya go." The clip then cuts to Cox wearing a turkey on her head, complete with glasses, shimmering away a la Monica.

The post has so far been watched over 4 million times since it was uploaded and received more than 40,000 comments.

Cox’s Friends costar Lisa Kudrow was one of the people to respond, writing “You DID THAT!!”.

Reese Witherspoon also responded, saying: “Love you sister!”

Friends ran for ten seasons and made household names of Cox, Kudrow, Jennifer Aniston, David Schwimmer, Matt LeBlanc and Matthew Perry before it ended in 2004.

A live reunion expected in 2020 has been put on hold due to the coronavirus pandemic.
