Coventry chip shop hits back at 'bad reviews' and says they are 'trying to keep costs low'
A top-rated Coventry chip shop has hit back after being inundated with 'bad reviews' on Google. Marina Fish Bar in Willenhall said they have been receiving requests to swap items but are 'already trying their hardest to keep costs low.'
Customers have reportedly been trying to swap items from the specials board and, when refused, have taken to Google to leave 'bad reviews.' It is something Marina Fish Bar described as an 'ongoing problem.'
One person who had asked to swap an item claimed that he was told 'you would not ask for that at McDonalds.' Staff said they have been swapping like-for-like items in recent weeks but will not be doing so going forward as they are 'already keeping costs as low as possible.'

A spokesman for Marina Fish Bar said on Facebook: “Firstly, we would just like to say how grateful we are as a business to continue to receive your wonderful support and custom. Secondly, we would just like to address a problem we have been facing.
“We have tried our hardest to keep our costs as low as possible and not put our prices up in two years, and we offer some wonderful specials on our menu, although recently we have had customers ask to swap things in our specials, which can be done for a like-for-like item, but we are receiving bad reviews when we will not swap out other items.
“As a business, this cannot be done unfortunately, as we are already keeping the costs as low as we possibly can. Going forward, we will be sticking to specials on the board and cannot be swapping any items on the menu board. We sincerely appreciate your custom.”
