Coventry City injury latest as winger stretchered off against Blackburn Rovers
Coventry City were dealt an early blow when Tatsuhiro Sakamoto was forced off injured in the 10th minute after getting a stud to his knee.
The Japanese winger had started lively and threw himself into a terrific tackle on Tyrhys Dolan, but the Blackburn player landed on Sakamoto’s knee where it looked like it had caused a nasty gash.
Sakamoto immediately waved to the bench in pain and the medical team race onto the pitch to treat him, before he was stretchered off, replaced by Ephron Mason-Clark.
The Sky Blues then took the lead a minute later when Jake Bidwell got his head to a Jack Rudoni cross and flicked the ball over the keeper.
