Coventry all-you-can-eat buffet closes for 'exciting project'
A Coventry eatery that opened last year has announced that they have closed for an 'exciting' project. Umami World Kitchen will be undergoing a revamp in the run-up to Christmas.
Umami World Kitchen opened in December last year and has been a hit with people across the city, receiving a 4-star rating on Google Reviews. It will be fully refurbished in the coming weeks and is set to reopen in December.
Umami, which is based on Corporation Street, will be renamed the Smokin' Hot Buffet and Grill. Bosses say the move was based on 'valuable feedback' they had received.

Works are taking place to give the city-centre-based building a 'fresh look.' Customers have also been promised an 'upgraded' dining experience, with the eatery set to open just before Christmas.
In a statement shared on Facebook, Umami said: “After listening to your valuable feedback, we have decided it is time for a revamp! Umami Coventry will be temporarily closing for a few weeks to undergo an exciting refurbishment just in time for Christmas.
“We will be reopening in December with a fresh look and a new name, Smokin' Hot Buffet and Grill. Our team is hard at work to bring you an upgraded dining experience with our exciting new project.
“Thanks for your continued support, and we cannot wait to welcome you back to experience all that Smokin' Hot will have to offer. All existing bookings will not be cancelled.”
A spokesman for Coventry BID added: “Umami is currently closed for refurbishment and will open with a new look and new name in December. We will keep you posted on an opening date.”
