A Coventry man who was part of a major drugs conspiracy has been jailed. Gino Shergill and six others trafficked more than £500,000 worth of high-purity cocaine from the West Midlands to Wales.

Police began investigating the Swansea-based gang in October 2022. Officers discovered that the seven-strong group was behind a large-scale conspiracy to supply cocaine and was also involved in money laundering.

Brothers Ryan Morgan, 32, and Leon Morgan, 27, who had 'no obvious legitimate forms of employment to maintain their lifestyles,' were found to be controlling the group from Swansea. Both were involved in the supply and distribution of multi-kilogram quantities of cocaine that had been sourced from the West Midlands.

Ryan and Leon had been in contact with Midlands-based drug gangs and were noted as travelling to those locations and making journeys for meetings in Swansea. Police said the group used a series of 'safe properties' where drugs were stored, prepared, and adulterated before they were distributed.

Police swooped on 35-year-old Nicky Davies in July 2023. He had travelled from Swansea to Coventry, where he met Gino Shergill.

While in Coventry, Davies loaded a car onto a recovery truck before travelling back to Wales. Police intercepted the vehicle in Bonymaen, Swansea, and found 7kg of high-purity cocaine, Swansea Crown Court heard.

Messages showed that Leon Morgan, Ryan Morgan, Nicky Davies, and Kenny Peters had orchestrated the collection of the seven kilos of cocaine that day, Swansea Crown Court heard. Officers raided a garage in Brynmill in November 2023 and found drugs, a hydraulic press, and a blender used to prepare and adulterate drugs.

Inside they also discovered a sawn-off shotgun and a bag of ammunition, Swansea Crown Court heard. Ryan Morgan was arrested in Hafod, Swansea, in December 2023.

All seven gang members were jailed for more than 58 years combined when they appeared at Swansea Crown Court in December 2024. Ryan Morgan, from Penlan, Swansea, was jailed for 16 years for conspiracy to supply drugs, money laundering, and dangerous driving.

Leon Morgan, from Penllergaer, Swansea, was sentenced to 10 years in jail for conspiracy to supply drugs and money laundering. Thomas Saunders, 23, from Gorseinon, was sentenced to seven years and 10 months in jail for conspiracy to supply drugs.

Jack Tomkins, 24, from Clase, Swansea, was locked up for seven years, and Kenny Peters, 44, from Swansea, was sentenced to six and a half years in jail. Gino Shergill, 32, from Romford Road, Coventry, was jailed for five years and 10 months, and Nicky Davies, from Ravenhill, Swansea, will spend five years and two months in jail.

Detective Inspector Vinnie Easton said: “Our thorough investigation uncovered a major drug conspiracy and is a great example of the detailed work carried out to combat organised crime of this nature. Illegal drugs have no place in our society, and the offenders in this operation were part of an organised criminal gang who brought harm and misery to our neighbourhoods through the supply of drugs.”
