Coventry man jailed for using stolen bank cards in 'ill-advised spending spree'
A Coventry man who breached conditions banning him from parts of the city has been jailed. Shameless Luke Campbell had gone on an 'ill-advised spending spree' earlier this year using bank cards he had stolen in Hillfields.
Campbell had been granted a two-year Criminal Behaviour Order (CBO) in May. He was subject to the CBO after being caught on CCTV using stolen bank cards at shops in the city, West Midlands Police said.
All of the cards had been stolen from vehicles in Hillfields in May. Campbell was subsequently banned from approaching or entering any student accommodation in the city and was also prohibited from entering Hillfields.

Police also banned Campbell from entering any retail or business premises in the city centre and Far Gosford Street. However, the 34-year-old was found to have failed to adhere to the terms of the CBO, just four months after it was granted.
Campbell was jailed for six months after he was arrested last week, West Midlands Police said. He pleaded guilty to fraud, breaching a CBO, and burglary and was sentenced at Coventry Magistrates' Court on Monday (September 30).
Chief Inspector Daryl Lyon previously described the CBO being granted as an 'excellent result.' Police said Campbell being subject to a CBO meant they were able to charge him and secure a conviction 'more easily.'
A spokesman for West Midlands Police said: “CBOs are an increasingly successful way of dealing with persistent offenders, as they allow our officers to take action earlier against known offenders. Orders help us protect businesses and prevent ongoing anti-social behaviour and have already secured some excellent results.”
