Coventry Music Museum wins prestigious TripAdvisor award

The Coventry Music Museum is celebrating after being recognised in the 2024 Tripadvisor Travelers' Choice Awards. The accolade, which honours businesses that consistently earn top-notch reviews, places the museum among the top 10% of listings worldwide on Tripadvisor.

As the globe's largest travel guidance platform, Tripadvisor holds significant sway with travellers and diners. The award is based on genuine feedback from visitors who have left an authentic, first-hand review on Tripadvisor over a 12-month period, making it a reliable indicator of excellent places to visit.

Pete Chambers BEM, the museum's curator, expressed his delight at the news: "This is such great news and an honour for all our wonderful volunteers who helped made it happen and all our fantastic visitors who give us amazing feedback. We strive on the personal touch and we love to welcome our guests to our museum, it's never a chore for our team, and each week is the start of a new exciting adventure. Thank you to everyone who has played a part in our success."

John Boris, Chief Growth Officer at Tripadvisor, congratulated the museum on its achievement: "Congratulations to The Coventry Music Museum at the 2-Tone Village on its recognition in Tripadvisor's Travelers' Choice Awards for 2024," he said. "Travelers' Choice honours businesses that consistently demonstrate a commitment to hospitality excellence. This means you have made such a memorable.

The Coventry Music Museum is a unique beast; it remains one of the only museum in the UK that celebrates a cities diverse music scene. From the Roman occupation right up to the current artists who are emerging from this great West Midlands city, also a whole lot in between.

Of course the emphatic Ska sound of 2Tone music features highly, after all Coventry gave 2Tone music to the waiting world, but there is a lot more here than just The Specials, Terry Hall and The Selecter.

Only here can you sit in the actual car that the Specials are seen riding in their video for their 1981 chart topper "Ghost Town", don't forget to vote for your favourite song to come out of Coventry & Warwickshire, so you can leave your mark.
