Coventry restaurant wins Tripadvisor award

A Coventry restaurant in the city centre has been ranked among the world's top 10 percent of restaurants by Tripadvisor. Tales of Tea, located underground in the 13th-century building of St Mary's Guildhall, has picked up a Tripadvisor's Travellers' Choice Award.

Tales of Tea, which opened in 2023, serves a range of high-quality seasonal dishes, including its acclaimed afternoon tea and a la carte dining, lunches, and brunches. This comes after St Mary's Guildhall also picked up a Travellers' Choice Award and ranked among locations such as the Eiffel Tower and the Colosseum as a top place to visit.

The restaurant has a 4.5-star rating on Tripadvisor, with other ratings including food (4.5/5), service (4.5/5), value (4/5), and atmosphere (4.5/5). Reviewers have described Tales of Twa as a 'hidden gem in a lovely setting' with an 'amazing ambiance' and 'brilliant service.'

Lucas B said, "One of the best afternoon teas I've had! The ambience was amazing, and the service was brilliant. I loved the vibrant, positive energy from the manager and waitresses. Couldn't have done it better! 10/10! I will definitely come back again if I'm in Coventry."

John R added: "I had a great experience at Tales of Tea. I was welcomed by Lovely and Jordan, as they helped me choose what to have for breakfast. They were very welcoming and very professional. The mocha coffee was very good, and the Victorian cake was mouthwatering."
