A minute of silence will be held in the House of Commons to honour Captain Sir Tom Moore and all victims of the coronavirus pandemic ahead of Prime Minister's Questions today.

The Second World War veteran, who inspired the nation in lockdown by raising tens of millions of pounds for the NHS, died at the age of 100 after contracting COVID-19, his family said on Tuesday.

To mark his memory, the minute's silence will take place before Prime Minister's Questions at noon to honour him and all victims of the pandemic.

The 100-year-old's death has prompted reaction from around the world, after he raised more than £32 million for the NHS during the UK's first lockdown.
