COVID-19: More than 12 million people receive first dose of vaccine as UK reports another 373 deaths

Another 373 COVID-related deaths in the UK have been reported, as the total number of people to have received the first dose of a vaccine surpassed 12 million.

The number of deaths is down from the 828 deaths confirmed on Saturday.

A further 15,845 infections were also confirmed on Sunday, compared to the 18,262 cases reported yesterday.

The latest government figures reveal 12,014,288 people have now had their first dose of a vaccine, while 511,447 have had both a first and second dose.

The figures are up from the 11,465,210 first doses that were confirmed on Saturday, while 510,057 people had received both jabs.

The latest numbers are accurate up to 6 February.
