Covid testing in Stockwell, South London, as capital hit by Omicron surge

Queues of people were seen at a Covid testing centre in South London on Monday 20 December, as the UK capital battles an Omicron surge. The lines in Stockwell were mirrored at other centres around the city. London is seeing high rates of infection by the new Covid-19 variant, but the government has yet to impose lockdown measures in response. Alarmed by the surge in the UK however, France and Germany have both banned most travellers from Britain.
