A crab got its moment to shine on Instagram when it nudged a photogenic seahorse away from a diver in the waters off Rye Pier in Victoria, Australia.
The moment was captured on camera by diver and keen photographer Jules Casey, who is based on the Mornington Peninsula, which is on the shores of Victoria’s Port Phillip Bay.
Sharing the video to Instagram on April 21, she wrote that her “dive buddy” PT Hirschfield, who goes under the Instagram handle, @pinktankscuba, was enjoying “a special moment” with a female big-belly seahorse “when all of a sudden a photobombing, crabby” crab came along “causing chaos”.
Speaking to Storyful, Casey said that during their dive, the pair spotted the “gorgeous” seahorse and stopped “to take a couple of photos” before the crab came along. “I loved the look on PT’s face,” she said.
