Singer Craig David 'so grateful' after receiving an MBE

Craig David has thanked everyone who had a hand in his career after being made an MBE.

The 'Heartline' singer, 40, was given the honour (Member of the Order of the British Empire) for services to music.

He was presented with the accolade by Prince Charles at an investiture ceremony at Windsor Castle.

David, who took his mum with him for the special event, has now told how “grateful” he was to be given the honour.

Posting snaps of him and his mum on Instagram, David wrote: “As I sit here after a beautiful day with my mum at Windsor Castle I just wanna say thank you to everyone that has played a part in my career to date & to everyone that supports me & enriches my life.”

“I’m so grateful & I Love You,” added the singer-songwriter.

David was inundated with messages from fans and friends after being given the honour.

Fearne Cotton posted heart emojis while DJ MistaJam posted: “LOVE this.”

David found fame singing on 'Re-Rewind (The Crowd Say Bo Selecta)' by Artful Dodger in 1999.

He unveiled his debut album, Born To Do It, back in 2000. His most recent album, The Time Is Now, was released in 2018.
