Craig Revel Horwood says he has ‘banned’ Gemma Collins from appearing on Strictly Come Dancing after she tried to ‘hold the BBC to ransom’.

TOWIE’s Gemma, 37, was reported to have said she’d take a compensation package from the BBC after she spectacularly fell down a trapdoor at the BBC Radio 1 Teen Awards last year.

The feisty judge, 53, spoke to the Sun about his thoughts on the reality TV star, saying it was he that enforced the ban: ‘I created that [ban], thank goodness. ‘Well, that was Gemma Collins who wanted to make her merry way on the show and try to hold the BBC to ransom after falling down a hole.

‘The ransom was that she wouldn’t sue if she went on Strictly and I went, “There’s no way that’s going to happen!”‘

Horwood proudly admitted that he was solely to thank for it, when asked who established said blocking of her: ‘Yeah, I did.’

Despite her not earning a place on Strictly, Gemma was given a slot on Celebrity MasterChef, even though bosses deny it has anything to do with her apparent threats to sue the broadcaster after her accident.

The reality star has recently come under fire during the promotional tour of her new autobiography, where more than once she was involved in uncomfortable exchanges when it came to discussing the contents of her book – specifically her refusal to talk about or remember chunks of it.

An interview went viral at the end of last month where she was slated for how cringe-worthy it was, after she slammed an interviewer for not having read it, despite not being sent a copy.

Shortly afterwards, she was blasted for seemingly forgetting an important part of her book about being bullied in school when she described the entire read as ‘fun’.
