Is the Strictly Come Dancing "curse" a real thing?

The show has been credited for contributing towards the break-ups of a number of couples between participating celebrities and their spouses. But Craig Revel Horwood has now had his say – and he doesn't hold back at all, saying the stars are responsible for their own break-ups.

"I don't think it's a curse or anything to do with Strictly," he told Express.co.uk.

Craig commented that he believes that the break-ups happen because the stars are simply not entirely happy in their relationships.

"I think it's just about, if people were to split up, their marriage must've been on the rocks anyway, for anything else to occur," he said.

"If people are happy in their relationship, they very rarely go off with someone else."

Craig recently revealed why he missed out on the head judge slot on the show, following Len Goodman's exit. Shirley Ballas was brought in as the replacement.

"I don't see myself as a mediator," he said. "The role as head judge [means] you have to be the mediator, [but] I am who I am and love the job I do.

"I wouldn't give it up for the world. I didn't want the responsibility. I like where I am at the moment, I think it's good."

Strictly Come Dancing is due to start on BBC One later in 2018.
