Craig Revel Horwood reckons that there’s something to be said for the so-called ‘Strictly Curse’.

After it struck again when Seann Walsh and his dance partner Katya Jones were snapped in a romantic clinch after a night out in the pub, the long-serving Strictly Come Dancing judge has said that it could even be a good thing.

Appearing on this weekend’s Jonathan Ross Show, he said: “I think of it as a blessing, actually.

“When you think of the success stories. Obviously the point you’re making in question is very, very different because one person is married, the other one had a girlfriend but my point in this entire thing is, if you come on Strictly, sometimes you are in a relationship that is not working anyway.

“I have noticed, that if people are in love or are married, end up being absolutely faithful to one another because of that love.

“It doesn’t mean you’re going to fall in love with your partner at any given point. They are actors aren’t they.”

As for rumours that the pair could have been booted off for their conduct – Katya is married to fellow Strictly star Neil Jones, and Seann Walsh was in a five-year relationship – he goes on to say that he would not approve of such action.

“My take was, keep them in the show, make them do the Dance of Shame, if you like,” he went on.

“I’m just saying it’s really important if this does happen to you, you face up to it. If you’re on your Christmas party and you snogged the boss, for instance, you’d still have to do the walk of shame on the Monday, wouldn’t you?”

Seann and Katya will perform a Charleston this Saturday night to Lunchmoney Lewis’s Bills.

The Jonathan Ross Show will air on Saturday night at 9.50pm on ITV.
