Crash that left motorcyclist injured closed road in Surrey

A busy road in Ash was closed at 8.30am on Wednesday, November 20 following a crash. Drivers were turned away from the scene and sent along a local diversion route.

The collision took place on Wyke Lane at the junction with Guildford Road, and took place between a motorcyclist and a vehicle. Police arrived and the rider of the motorcycle was taken to a nearby hospital for medical treatment.

It wasn't until just after 10am that the route reopened to the public. At this moment in time no arrests have been made.

Surrey Police released a statement regarding the incident. It reads: "Officers were called to a collision on Wyke Lane at the junction with Guildford Road in Ash shortly after 8.30am this morning. The collision involved the rider of a motorcycle and the driver of a car.

"Both parties stopped at the scene, and the rider of the motorcycle was taken to hospital for medical treatment. No arrests have been made at this time."
