A CRASH outside a high school in Worcester closed a main road earlier today.

Police responded to a report of a car that collided with a parked car on Timerdine Avenue in Battenhall, outside of Blessed Edwards Oldcorne College.

A police car was parked across the road so no traffic could pass, as two cars involved in the crash were also in the middle of the road.

Drivers were approaching the parked police car and were forced to use the entrance to the school to turn around.

"Police were called at 11.40am to a report of a collision involving two vehicles on Timberdine Avenue," a spokesperson for West Mercia Police said.

"At the current time, it doesn’t appear anyone is injured.

"The road is currently closed to allow the vehicles to be recovered."

Drivers were advised to find a diversion whilst the road was made safe.

A neighbour criticised the lack of signage regarding the road closure.

She said: "I didn't see the crash happen. I was not sure if it was an incident inviting one of the houses at first

"There are no signs saying the road is blocked off which is not the best."

The road was reopened at 1pm.
