Crash shuts Stoke-on-Trent road and leaves two men in Royal Stoke

Two men were taken to hospital after a two-vehicle crash in Stoke-on-Trent. Emergency services were sent to the junction of Sutherland Road and Weston Coyney Road in Longton this afternoon (October 25).

A grey VW T-Roc and a blue Vauxhall Crossland were involved in the smash, which happened shortly before 2pm.

Now paramedics have confirmed that two men suffered injuries not believed to be serious. They were both taken to the Royal Stoke University Hospital.

A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman said: "We were called to reports of an RTC at the junction of Sutherland Road and Weston Coyney Road in Longton just before 2pm. Two ambulances were sent to the scene where, on arrival, crews discovered two cars had been involved in a collision.

"There were two patients, both men, who were treated for injuries not believed to be serious. They were conveyed to Royal Stoke University Hospital."

A Staffordshire Police spokesman said: "We were called to Sutherland Road in Longton at 2pm today following reports of a collision involving a grey VW T-Roc and a blue Vauxhall Crossland. Officers went to the scene alongside paramedics from West Midlands Ambulance Service and closed the road.

"Both of the drivers were assessed by ambulance crews at the scene. We arranged recovery for both of the vehicles."
