'This is Crazy!': Southport in Queensland Submerged in Floodwater Following Storm

The streets of Southport on Australia’s Gold Coast in Queensland became submerged with water after severe storms hit the region on December 13.

Floodwaters caused disruptions at an intersection outside the Australia Fair, a local shopping mall in Southport, as seen in this video recorded by Elisa Gerolymatos.

“Some cars were stranded… it caught everyone by surprise when we were leaving the shopping Center. We had sung through the storm and a total blackout … but had no idea the streets were so flooded,” Gerolymatos told Storyful.
