Creepy Edinburgh social care assistant 'grabbed colleagues' waist and kissed them'
A former Edinburgh social care assistant has been struck off for 'grabbing colleagues by the waist and kissing them'.
Yomi Adedeji was hauled before the Scottish Social Services Council following several allegations of misconduct while employed as a social care assistant by Edinburgh Council.
The incidents are alleged to have taken place in May 2022, when Adedeji, on three occasions, grabbed his colleague around the waist from behind and in one case did so before kissing her on the neck.

On more than one occasion, Adedeji cuddled a colleague, attempted to kiss her and referred to her as "sexy" or words to that effect in the presence of another colleague.
Adedeji also told a co-worker: "If you were mine, I wouldn’t let you drink", as well as: "If you were mine, I would stop you smoking," and : "If you were mine, I would treat you like a Queen."
On a date or dates between January 2022 and May 2022, Adedeji, while providing personal care to a resident, took down a colleague's mask and kissed her as well as asking her to take down her mask so he could kiss her.
When the colleague refused and said "no" Adedeji said he "just wanted to see what it's like kissing you" and insisted it "was not cheating" and that he 'was not trying to sleep with her'.

The SSSC heard evidence from three witnesses and referred to a number of documents before deciding all allegations against Adedeji were proven and a striking off order would be imposed.
The regulator also noted how Adedeji constantly denied the allegations despite admitting "if they had just said I would have backed off" and refusing to offer any explanation as to why witnesses may have made up such allegations.
The council said: "Your physical and verbal conduct towards your two colleagues, ZZ and XX, was likely to cause significant emotional harm and the evidence from ZZ confirms that physical harm was also likely as she stated that “you could break my ribs” on one of the occasions when you lifted her off the ground.

"Your behaviour in all the allegations would clearly put your two colleagues at risk of both physical and emotional harm. Your repeated sexual harassment of your colleagues is a clear breach of this part. Your behaviour towards them was entirely disrespectful and likely to cause them upset and distress.
"The Presenter submitted that you had demonstrated no insight at all into your behaviour. You had in fact denied it and accused the witnesses of telling lies. You have not indicated any regret and made no apology. She submitted that this was an aggravating factor, and the Panel accepted that submission."
