Makes 12

Prep and cooking time: 60 minutes

Ingredients

  • 250g butter

  • 200g golden caster sugar

  • 100g light muscavado sugar

  • 200g self-raising flour 200g

  • 5 tbsp cocoa powder

  • 3 eggs

  • 100g milk chocolate

  • Creme Eggs

Method

Preheat the oven to 180C/fan 160C/gas mark 4 and grease and line a 20cm x 20cm shallow baking tin with baking parchment.

Heat the butter, caster sugar and muscovado sugar in a pan over a gentle heat and stir until it has all melted and take it off the heat.

Meanwhile, pour the flour, cocoa and eggs into a different bowl and mix together.

Beat the eggs into the pan with the sugar and butter, then stir in the dry ingredients and mix until you have a smooth batter.

Spoon the batter into the prepared baking tin. Cut the Creme Eggs in half and dot all over the surface of the batter, pushing them in slightly but remembering to leave some aside for decoration.

Bake in the oven for 35-40 minutes until set. Remove from the oven and leave to cool in the tin for 10 minutes, then lift out and leave to to cool completely on a wire rack.

Decorate the top with the remaining Creme Eggs.

Melt the milk chocolate in a microwave on a medium hear, or over a pan of gently simmering water.

Once it has melted, drizzle it all over the brownie. Leave it to set before cutting into squares.
