Crews Battle 1,200-Acre Wildfire in Kern County

A wildfire burning in Kern County, California, grew to 1,200 acres and was only 2 percent contained on June 27, according to fire officials.

The Shell Fire broke out on Sunday off Interstate 5 and Grapevine Road and had grown to 1,200 acres by around 8 pm, according to the Kern County Fire Department.
