The 2019 Cricket World Cup begins in May, with the world's leading 10 international sides competing over six weeks to be crowned the winner.

This year's tournament will take place in England and Wales between May 30 and July 14, with England going into the tournament among the favourites.

Teams were required to submit provisional squads by April 23 - and finalise them by May 22.

Afghanistan

Afghanistan have selected fast bowler Hamid Hassan, who last played for the side in July 2016. Hassan, 31, has played 32 ODIs for the war-torn nation and was part of Afghanistan's maiden appearance at the World Cup in Australia and New Zealand four years back.

Earlier this month, Afghanistan replaced long-serving ODI captain Asghar Afghan with Gulbadin Naib as part of wholesale changes to the team's leadership structure across formats. Several senior players questioned the timing of the leadership changes before the World Cup, and Afghan has kept his place in the squad.

The spinners are the biggest strength of Afghanistan, touted as the 'dark horse', and they have named three specialist world-class slow bowlers in Rashid Khan, Mohammad Nabi and Mujeeb Ur Rahman. Rashid, 20, is the top-ranked bowler in the Twenty20 format and third in the list of bowlers for ODIs.

Australia

Steve Smith and David Warner have been named in Australia's squad for the World Cup but there is no place for strike bowler Josh Hazlewood, with selectors saying he needs to work himself back to full fitness after a back injury.

Former skipper Smith and Warner are eligible for Aaron Finch's side after their 12-month suspensions for ball-tampering ended last month but their return has put a squeeze on the batting positions and Peter Handscomb drops out. Alex Carey has been named the sole wicket-keeper in the squad.

Spinners Nathan Lyon and Adam Zampa have made the cut, with selectors going for the pace of Pat Cummins, Mitchell Starc, Nathan Coulter-Nile, Kane Richardson and Jason Behrendorff.

Bangladesh

Rookie swing bowler Abu Jayed has earned a spot in Bangladesh's World Cup squad while batsman Mosaddek Hossain also makes the cut.

Jayed, who has played only five Tests and three Twenty20 internationals, is picked following his performances in the two-Test series in New Zealand where he finished as the visitors' leading wicket-taker.

Hossain, a middle-order batsman who can bowl off-spin, last played for Bangladesh in the Asia Cup in September. He was not in the squad when they played Zimbabwe, West Indies and New Zealand across formats.

Three recovering players - left-arm pacer Mustafizur Rahman, all-rounder Mahmudullah and paceman Rubel Hossain - are also named in the squad.

England

England have called up fast bowler Jofra Archer to their final 15-man squad, with the hosts making three changes to the preliminary squad they announced last month.

All-rounder Liam Dawson, who bowls left-arm spin, and top-order batsman James Vince are also called up by selectors, with Joe Denly and David Willey missing out.

Dawson, who last played an ODI in October, picked up 18 wickets for Hampshire in the Royal London One-Day Cup, while Vince takes Alex Hales' spot after the latter was dropped after being suspended for recreational drug use.

India

Veteran Dinesh Karthik has pipped youngster Rishabh Pant to the second wicket-keeper's spot in India's World Cup squad and all-rounder Vijay Shankar also makes the cut.

With Mahendra Singh Dhoni the undisputed first-choice wicket-keeper, the selectors preferred Karthik's experience to the raw aggression of 21-year-old Pant.

KL Rahul makes the squad as a back-up opener, but could also bat at No 4.

New Zealand

Wicket-keeper Tom Blundell is the surprise selection in New Zealand's 15-man squad - he has never played the format at international level.

The 28-year-old Blundell has played just two Tests, making a century on debut, and three Twenty20 internationals for New Zealand, but will serve as a back-up to Tom Latham.

Blundell's surprise elevation into the squad is at the expense of Tim Seifert, who had been the preferred wicket-keeper in Twenty20 internationals this summer and made his one-day international debut in January against Sri Lanka.

Ish Sodhi won a tight selection battle with Todd Astle as the second spinner, with all-rounder Mitchell Santner the first-choice slow bowler.

Pakistan

Fast bowlers Wahab Riaz and Mohammad Amir have been drafted in to Pakistan's final 15-man squad for the World Cup along with middle-order batsman Asif Ali.

The trio will replace Faheem Ashraf, Junaid Khan and Abid Ali after selectors spoke with skipper Sarfaraz Ahmed and coach Mickey Arthur following Pakistan's 4-0 defeat by England in their recent ODI series.

Wahab, who has 102 wickets in 79 ODIs, last played a 50-over match for his country in June 2017, but selectors have chosen the 33-year-old veteran over Junaid and Faheem, who both struggled against England.

The hard-hitting Asif is picked for his ability in the middle order, with the form of Fakhar Zaman and Imam-ul-Haq keeping fellow opener Abid Ali out of the squad.

South Africa

South Africa have included off-form opening batsman Hashim Amla in their squad. Amla's selection has been the topic of hot debate. In ODI cricket he has managed a single century in his previous 16 innings, dating back to the start of 2018, at an average of 35.26.

Fast bowlers Lungi Ngidi and Anrich Nortje were both injury doubts, but have been selected, with the former especially crucial to the side given his wicket-taking ability and economy in the opening overs.

Rassie van der Dussen, who only made his debut for the side in January but averages 88.25 from his eight ODI innings, is chosen ahead of Reeza Hendricks, while Test opener Aiden Markram also gets the nod on the back of some excellent domestic form.

Sri Lanka

Sri Lanka have left out former captains Dinesh Chandimal and Upul Tharanga and recalled spin-bowling all-rounders Milinda Siriwardana and Jeevan Mendis.

Chandimal was Sri Lanka's one-day international captain as recently as October while Tharanga led the side in 2017.

Tharanga's fellow opener Danushka Gunathilaka also fails to make the cut but Lahiru Thirimanne, who last played in the ODI format in 2017, is drafted into the squad.

Jeffrey Vandersay is picked over mystery spinner Akila Dananjaya as the only specialist slow bowler with Sri Lanka's selectors rewarding the leg-spinner's strong performances in a recent domestic 50-over tournament.

West Indies

All-rounders Kieron Pollard and Sunil Narine have failed to make the cut. However, hard-hitting opening batsman Chris Gayle, 39, is called up for what will be his fifth World Cup, as is all-rounder Andre Russell.

Pollard and Narine, who have not been part of the ODI set-up since 2016, have played 166 ODIs between them but have been overlooked by an interim selection panel.

Evin Lewis, who missed the recent England series with an injury, is named in the squad. There is also a return for fast bowler Shannon Gabriel, who last played in 2017, alongside fellow quick Kemar Roach and the relatively inexperienced Oshane Thomas.

Fabian Allen and Ashley Nurse will be on spin duty while Nicholas Pooran is set to compete with Shai Hope for the wicketkeeper's spot.
