TWO statues worth more than £35,000 have been stolen from a Herefordshire village, police say.

West Mercia Police's Hereford Rural Crime Team said it was trying to trace the stolen bronze statues stolen from Ullingswick, near Bromyard.

Officers said Florence in the ballet pose was worth £20,000, while Annabel skipping was worth £15,950.

Both pieces are by Suffolk-based Brian Alabaster, one of the country's leading figurative sculptors, and are signed limited editions.

Police said they were stolen between March 24 and 28.

They said: "We have had success before in recovering items of this nature so please share far and wide. Any information please get in touch."

In 2021, a lion statue worth almost £10,000 and which "weighed as much as a small horse" was stolen from Holloways, a business in Suckley, near Bromyard.

Later that year, stone horse statues were also stolen from a property near the town.
