Cristiano Ronaldo has given Piers Morgan’s son the boots he scored his “final Manchester United goals in” following his bombshell television interview.

Ronaldo, 37, gave Spencer, 29, the signed pair of yellow Nike boots before Piers Morgan Uncensored: 90 Minutes with Ronaldo, which will air on TalkTV in two parts: the first is on Wednesday, November 16 at 8pm, with the second at the same time the following night.

Spencer’s Instagram post on Tuesday night showed him holding the Portugal striker’s boots and included a video of Ronaldo confirming they were his.

Spencer’s caption said: “Christmas came early. Thank you Cristiano for the boots you banged your final Man Utd goals in. Now let’s find you a new club.”

Ronaldo quipped: “I scored a few goals [wearing these boots] - not many! But I scored a few.”

Morgan’s comment below the post said: “Ahem, ‘Thanks dad’”, with Gary Lineker’s son George adding: “Elite.”

The gesture would appear to be the final nail in the coffin of Ronaldo’s second Old Trafford stint following his shocking revelations in the interview with Morgan.

What Ronaldo said in the Uncensored interview

In the 90-minute interview with Morgan, Ronaldo did not hold back in his thoughts on Manchester United, the management, former teammates and even the club’s facilities.

He also said the death of his newborn son in April was “the most difficult moment” of his life.

The Portuguese player said that he had felt “betrayed” by the way Manchester United had treated him, saying that he was often made to feel like a “black sheep”.

But he didn’t stop there, as he also took aim at former teammate Wayne Rooney.

“I don’t know why he criticises me so badly. Probably because he finished his career and I’m still playing at high level,” he said.

He added with a chuckle: “I’m not going to say that I’m looking better than him. Which is true.”

It came as a surprise to many when Ronaldo rejoined Manchester United in 2021, 12 years after leaving the club for Real Madrid.

However, he returned to Old Trafford with a bang in September last year with two goals in a 4-1 victory over Newcastle.

His joyful return was short-lived, however, with Ronaldo telling Morgan how his time at the Red Devils had quickly turned sour.

“The progress was zero,” he said of the club’s struggles.

“Since Sir Alex [Ferguson] left [in 2013], I saw no evolution in the club. Nothing had changed.”
