Crowd Cheers During US Capitol Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony

Large crowds gathered in Washington to watch the Capitol Christmas tree lighting ceremony, on the evening of December 1.

In footage filmed by Candice Buchanan, crowds can be heard chanting a countdown to the tree lights being switched on.

According to local media reports the 84-foot white fir, nicknamed ‘Sugar Bear’, is from the Six Rivers National Forest in California.
