Crowd Gathers in Richmond to Witness Removal of Robert E Lee Statue

A statue of the Confederate general Robert E Lee was removed from its pedestal in Richmond, Virginia – the capital of the Confederacy – on the morning of September 8.

In this footage, posted to Instagram by Mara Zenobia, a crowd can be seen gathered on Monument Avenue in anticipation of the removal.
