Crowd Scatters During DC Event Prior to Deadly Shooting Incident

A teenage boy was killed, and three other people were injured, in a shooting after a music event in Washington on Sunday, June 19, police said.

Washington police chief Robert Contee said officers shut down the unauthorized street event, called Moechella, after two separate incidents occurred on Sunday evening, causing some people to flee the area. The event did not have a permit, he said.

Shortly after the event was shut down, four people, including a teenager and a police officer, were shot. Contee said a 15-year-old was killed.
