Crowd Sings Outside Ahmaud Arbery Mural After Guilty Verdicts Announced in Brunswick, Georgia

Crowds celebrated in Brunswick, Georgia, on November 24, after three men were found guilty of the murder of Ahmaud Arbery.

The men – Travis McMichael, his father Gregory McMichael, and William “Roddie” Bryan – were each charged with one count of malice murder, four counts of felony murder, two counts of aggravated assault, one count of false imprisonment and one count of criminal attempt to commit a felony.

Travis McMichael was convicted on all nine charges, while his father, Gregory, was convicted of all charges except malice murder. Bryan was convicted on six charges; the jury found him not guilty of malice murder, one count of felony murder, and of aggravated assault with a firearm.

Arbery was shot and killed while jogging in the Brunswick area on February 23, 2020.
