Crowds Gather to Pay Tribute to Parade Victims in Waukesha

A large crowd gathered in Waukesha, WIsconsin, on Monday, November 22, to hold a vigil after a man drove an SUV into a Christmas parade, leaving at least 5 dead and 48 injured.

Waukesha Police Chief Dan Thompson said the police department was referring five counts of fire-degree intentional homicide along with other charges relating to the incident. The suspect was identified as Darrell Brooks, who police said was fleeing a domestic disturbance at the time.

The Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin said 18 children, aged three to 16, were admitted to their emergency department for injuries ranging from “facial abrasions, to broken bones, to serious head injuries.”
