The Crown's 'Prince Charles' takes centre stage at season two premiere

A red carpet event can be stressful for anyone, especially a small child.

However, young actor Billy Jenkins took to the red carpet like a pro at the premiere of the second season of The Crown.

The 10-year-old posed for the cameras, flicking his fingers at them and grinning.

His attention was diverted somewhat, however, when he was joined by a corgi.

The young actor, who plays Prince Charles, is no stranger to fame, having won hearts in his role in Channel 4’s Humans.

He was overheard saying to reporters that he was invited to the red carpet because he is "one of the stars", proudly scraping his hair back.

Billy stars alongside twins Amelia and Grace Gilmour, who share the part of a young Princess Anne.

A keen golf fan at his young age, he has already interviewed the world's top golfers on his YouTube channel.

The child actors made an appearance in series one, but it is thought they will have more of a role to play in the second series.

The new series of The Crown will portray the Duke of Edinburgh as a man angry at being “outranked” by his young son, the Prince of Wales.

The return of the lavish Netflix drama will show the Queen’s marriage to the Duke under strain.

The Duke is frustrated by his role as consort, feeling unable to stamp his authority as a father because his son is the future king.

In one heated row, the Duke, played by Matt Smith, tells the Queen that he must fight to be respected because “right now I am currently outranked by my eight-year-old son”.

Charles turned eight at the end of 1956, where the second series of The Crown picks up.
